The Creative Crew of Jamie Drake

JAMIE DRAKE, FASID IIDA
Interior designer Jamie Drake is renowned for his exuberant design sensibility and his ability to distill a vast knowledge of periods and styles with a connoisseur’s eye.
Drake launched his business in 1978 after graduating from Parsons School of Design. Over the course of his illustrious career, his expertise has spanned a wide range of projects—from cosmopolitan glass-clad penthouses and sprawling oceanfront estates to commercial spaces, including private foundations and state-of-the-art medical facilities. His civic work includes the renovation and restoration of New York’s Gracie Mansion, the City Clerk’s Office (also known as the Marriage Bureau), and numerous rooms at City Hall, all completed during the administration of his longtime client of four decades, Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
His work has been featured in virtually every major design publication, including Architectural Digest, ELLE Decor, Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Interior Design, and many more. Among his numerous accolades, Drake has been named to the prestigious Architectural Digest AD100 list multiple times and was inducted into the AD100 Hall of Fame in 2022. He is also a longtime member of the ELLE Decor A-List (named a Legend in 2026), a recipient of Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars Award for Interior Design and has been inducted into the ASID College of Fellows and Interior Design magazine’s Hall of Fame. House Beautiful has honored him as a Master Class designer.
Deeply committed to philanthropy, Drake currently serves as chairman of the New York Community Trust board and sits on the boards of The Alpha Workshops, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, The New School and Parsons School of Design. He is vice chair of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, benefiting the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and co-chair of its President’s Dinner. He is also an avid supporter of Housing Works and its Design on a Dime fundraiser and is a recipient of the Partnership for the Homeless Director’s Award.
